About the Opportunity:  

What is this opportunity? 
Elsevier is giving Osmosis students the chance to meet Doctor Mike (Dr. Mikhail Varshavski) in person in New York City as part of an exclusive student roundtable on AI in medical education, taking place between August 21-23 2026. Selected participants will be filmed on camera with Doctor Mike for use in Elsevier and Osmosis marketing materials. 

How many students will be selected? 
Five students will be selected, along with two alternates. 

What exactly will the roundtable look like? 
You’ll be joining a casual, intimate conversation with your fellow selected students and Doctor Mike on AI in medical education. Think less formal panel, more real talk. 

Who is eligible? 
To be eligible, you must be: 

  • Currently enrolled in a healthcare program including but not limited to MD, DO, RN, MBBS, MBChB, BMBS, DDS, BDS, PharmD, BPharm, NP, PA, PT/Physiotherapy, OT, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Radiography, Medical Laboratory Science, Veterinary Medicine, or a similar health-related degree program 
  • Available to travel to New York City, NY between August 21-23 2026 
  • Comfortable being filmed on camera with Doctor Mike 
  • Have experience using Osmosis (free trial, current, or former user) 
  • Have a valid visa or be able to obtain one permitting travel to the United States, and be able to comply with any applicable entry requirements at the time of the event. 

Is this open to international students? 
Yes, this opportunity is open to students globally (excluding Italy, Brazil, Quebec Canada, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Russia, China and South Korea). However, applicants must hold a valid visa permitting travel to the United States and must be able to comply with any applicable geographic travel restrictions or U.S. entry requirements at the time of the event. Please check your country’s travel requirements before applying.

How do I apply? 
Applications are submitted through the Student Hub https://studenthub.elsevier.com/en/doctor-mike-roundtable/. Complete the short application form, which includes six quick questions and a quick video answering: How do you use Osmosis in your studies? 

When are applications open? 
Applications open July 15th and close July 29th, 2026. Winners will be notified in early August.

How long will the application take? 
We estimate it takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. The application includes six short questions, plus a quick video submission.

What does the video submission need to include? 
Record yourself (on your phone or computer) answering the following question in 2 minutes or less: How do you use Osmosis in your studies? 

Can I submit my application in a language other than English? 
All written and video submissions must be in English. 

Can I apply if I’ve never used Osmosis AI, only Osmosis? 
Yes! Osmosis AI hasn’t launched to every field yet, so as long as you’ve used Osmosis (free trial, current, or former user) you’re eligible to apply.   

Will my video and application content be used publicly? 
By applying, you agree that any application content or recorded material may be used in Elsevier and Osmosis marketing materials. 

Selection Process: 

How are participants selected? 
Participants will be selected by a committee of Elsevier professionals based on their application responses, video submission, and overall fit for the event. 

When will I find out if I’ve been selected? 
Selected participants will be notified in early August 2026. 

Travel & Accommodations: 

What travel and accommodation are covered? 
Roundtrip airfare and lodging in New York City will be provided for selected participants. Ground transportation, meals, tourist activities, and other personal expenses will not be covered. Additionally, Visa fees and travel documentation costs are the responsibility of the applicant. 

Who will book the winner’s travel and accommodation? 
An Elsevier team member will coordinate travel and hotel bookings directly with each winner. Please note that this opportunity is for selected participants only and guests and/or plus-ones are not included. 

How far in advance will travel be booked? 
Travel will be booked as soon as winners are announced and confirm their participation in early August, giving selected participants as much lead time as possible. 

What if my travel plans change or I need to cancel after being selected? 
Please only apply if you are certain, you are available August 21-23, 2026. We are unable to guarantee accommodation for cancellations after selection. 

Filming & Content: 

What will the filming involve? 
Filming will take place over approximately an hour and a half, followed by dinner with Doctor Mike and your fellow selected students. It’s designed to be a comfortable, conversational experience. 

Will I be able to review the content before it’s published? 
Elsevier retains full editing and content rights to all recorded material. Content will not be shared for review prior to publication.

Doctor Mike Roundtable – Elsevier Healthcare Student Competition

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase does not improve chances of winning. Subject to all federal, state and local laws/regulations. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.   

2. SPONSOR 

Elsevier Inc., 101 Park Avenue, 24th Floor, New York NY 10178 USA. 

3. ELIGIBILITY 

Doctor Mike Roundtable Contest 2026 (“Promotion”) is open to all individuals who are (i) currently enrolled as students in an accredited healthcare-related program (including but not limited to medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, or allied health); (ii) have attended the age of majority  at the time of entry as per local laws and (iii) have filled in the form correctly and submitted within the assigned timeline from any country globally excluding the countries listed in the restricted list (excluding Italy, Brazil, Quebec Canada, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Russia, China and South Korea). Employees of Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies and agents, and their immediate families or those living in the same household, or their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. Government officials are not eligible to enter. “Government Official” means any officer or employee of a government or any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, or of a public international organization, or any person acting in an official capacity for or on behalf of any such government or department, agency, or instrumentality, or for or on behalf of any such public international organization. This includes employees of state-owned or state-controlled entities, elected or appointed officials, heads of agencies or departments, doctors employed by state hospitals, professors employed by state universities, public librarians, school superintendents, principals and teachers. (examples of government officials, include, but are not limited to the following: local tax authorities, customs officials, ministry of education employees, employees of government owned and operated enterprises, such as schools, libraries and medical facilities, political party officials and candidates for political office, and generally can include an employee or official of (1) a commercial entity in which a government body has an ownership interest or exerts control over such an entity; or (2) public international organizations such as the United Nations of the World Bank, etc. Entrants may be subject to rules imposed by their institution or employer relative to their participation in trade promotions and should check with their institution or employer for any relevant policies. By submitting an entry (henceforth “Entrants”) (including accepting any prizes or awards in connection with this Promotion), Entrant confirms that Entrant’s participation in this Promotion does not contravene any applicable laws and regulations and any policies and rules of Entrant’s institution, including those pertaining to anti-bribery, gifting, conflicts of interests and outside compensation, and that Entrant’s participation in the Promotion will not influence any decisions that Entrant might make on behalf of their employer or institution with respect to awarding business to Elsevier. If the entry is prohibited or restricted by law, the entry will be disqualified as null and void.   

4. HOW TO ENTER 

To enter, the participants need to submit their data (such as name, email, current year of study, institution and program of study) in a form within the landing page hosted on the website at https://studenthub.elsevier.com/en/doctor-mike-roundtable/  during the Entry Period.  Entrants are required to send video responses to one short-answer question and send completed registration form following instructions to enter the competition. Entrants need to share their respective Osmosis email account, and social media handles. Any entrant who attempts to participate in multiple e-mail and/or multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to obtain more than one entry may be disqualified. In the event of a dispute in connection with the identity of the individual who submitted a response, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the account identified on the response. The authorized account holder is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider, or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If an eligible individual cannot be determined and verified in the manner described above, the entry will be disqualified as null and void.   

All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. 

5. PROMOTION PERIOD 

Entrants may register in the Promotion from 15th July 2026 at 08:00 (EST) through 29th July 2026 23:59 (EST). (“Promotion Period”). Sponsor’s server shall serve as the official clock for this Promotion.  

6. JUDGING AND EVALUATION OF WINNER 

A maximum of 7 (seven) winners will be picked based on the following criteria: (a) relevance and clarity of responses 35%; (b) passion for education and AI 25%; and (c) creativity and originality 40%. Judges will be selected by Elsevier to pick winners based on the above criteria on 31st July 2026 from all eligible entries in order to enter the competition correctly and follows the same during the Promotion Period in accordance with these Official Rules.   

The prize drawing will be conducted based of the above criteria and the decision will be final and binding in all respects. 

The winners are subject to proving eligibility to receive a prize. 

7. PRIZES 

Maximum of seven (7) winners will receive a round-trip, economy-class travel to New York City from winner’s country of residence along with hotel accommodation for one night and one meal during the event (approximately 1300 USD per winner).  

The winners will get a chance to meet Doctor Mike. 

Total cost of all the prizes is approximately $ 9100 (nine thousand one hundred USD)   

No assignment, substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability at time of award. All other expenses associated with use of the prize, including, but not limited to local, state, or federal taxes on the prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Entry in this Promotion constitutes each entrant’s agreement to pay all applicable taxes and duties and comply with all laws.  

Selection made by Judges and decision of sponsor will be final and binding in all respects. The winner is subject to proving eligibility in order to receive prize. 

8. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND ACCEPTANCE 

Potential winners will be notified by email on or about 5th August 2026. Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, or misdirected notification email. If Sponsor is unable to contact a potential winner, or if any potential winner fails to respond to the prize notification within seven (7) days of issuance of notification, or if a potential winner fails to comply with any of the requirements, an alternate winner shall be selected through another drawing conducted by Sponsor. A winner may waive the right to receive the prize. The prize is non-assignable and non-transferable. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and payment of any federal, state and local taxes associated with the prize. Winners will be asked to execute and return to Sponsor an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release (except where prohibited by law) within fourteen (14) days of notification. At the sole discretion of the Sponsor, each prize will be awarded via e-mail to the name and e-mail address provided in the entry form within 2 to 3 weeks following. Non-compliance within that time period or failure to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules may, at the sole discretion of Sponsor, result in a winner’s disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. Return of prize notification email as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.  

9. RIGHT TO USE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN WINNING ENTRIES 

Winners’ first names and country of residence, may be featured on the Promotion Website. The first name of the winner will be made available in the campaign landing page. All entrants will be eligible to request for the winners list in Instagram itself. Accepting the prize, each winner acknowledges compliance with these Official Rules and agrees to permit Sponsor to use their first name and country of residence. Rights granted by winners are for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes, are in perpetuity and in any medium Sponsor sees fit, including, but not limited to, website, television, radio, or printed materials.  

Consent to Use of Personal Information: None of the entries submitted by participants will be treated as confidential. As such, entrants should not submit proprietary information. Entrants further agree that personally identifiable information may be processed, stored, and otherwise used for the purposes of the Promotion, including, but not limited to, checking participant’s identity, email address, and institutional affiliation, or to otherwise verify eligibility to participate. The personal data submitted through Sponsor’s platform is subject to its privacy policy at http://www.relx.com/site-services/privacy.  

Limitation of Liability/Reservation of Rights: Neither Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, nor its advertising or promotional agencies shall have any obligation, liability or responsibility for (1) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (2) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the Promotion to be disrupted; (3) any printing or typographical errors in these Official Rules or any other materials associated with the Promotion; (4) entries that contain incorrect or inaccurate information or do not comply with these Official Rules; or (5) entries, prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any entry of any person tampering with or abusing the entry process, conduct of the Promotion or otherwise violating these Official Rules. Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Promotion if it cannot be completed as planned because of tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.  

RELEASE: BY ENTERING THE PROMOTION, ENTRANTS RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR AND ITS PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, AND AFFILIATED COMPANIES, AND EACH OF THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, VENDORS, PARTNERS AND AGENTS, FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY WHATSOEVER, AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CAUSES OF ACTION, FOR OR RELATED TO ANY CLAIMS, COSTS, INJURIES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, DAMAGE TO OR DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, RIGHTS OF PUBLICITY OR PRIVACY, DEFAMATION OR PORTRAYAL IN A FALSE LIGHT) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROMOTION OR THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, OR USE OF THE PRIZE, WHETHER UNDER A THEORY OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, NEGLIGENCE, WHETHER ACTIVE, PASSIVE, OR IMPUTED), STRICT LIABILITY, PRODUCT LIABILITY, CONTRIBUTION, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.  

10. CONSTRUCTION 

The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of USA, without giving effect to its conflicts of law principles.

The event will be promoted through Elsevier Student Hub Page, Email blast, In-app Messaging (Pendo), Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. 

12. WINNERS LIST
