Who is eligible? 

Applications are open globally, and awards will be granted to top faculty in the following categories: Medical Doctor/ Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO), Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner (RN/NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Other Healthcare Professionals, Student Advisor / Learning & Design Specialist, Health Equity, Anatomy & Physiology Librarian. The more nominations a faculty member receives, the better their chances of winning, so encourage your classmates and colleagues to join in! 

 
How long should the application take? 

The application includes: (1) basic personal information, contact information, and details of the faculty you’re nominating; (2) a short questionnaire; and (3) an optional video submission of no more than 5 minutes in length. We estimate it takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete the entire process.  

 
When will the award winners be announced? 

Nomination winners will be notified at the end of April 2026. We’ll work directly with the winners to arrange the fulfillment of the award. 

 
Are the Raise the Line Faculty Awards open internationally? 

Yes, these awards are open to faculty members globally.  

 
Can I nominate more than one faculty member? 

Yes, you can nominate up to five (5) different faculty members. The more times a faculty member is nominated, the greater their chances of winning, so invite your classmates and colleagues to join in! 

 
Can I nominate a faculty member for the Award if they have previously won the nomination? 

Yes, they can be nominated again, however, all grand prize and category faculty award winners from 2020 and 2022 may not win the award again. 

 
How are nominees evaluated? 

Nominees will be chosen by a selection committee of Elsevier professionals on the basis of quality, application completion, questionnaire responses, number of nominations a nominee receives, and the optional video submission.

Official Rules, Terms, and Conditions 

Read complete award information before applying. Please read all requirements carefully. By entering the contest, you agree to these Rules, Terms, and Conditions. 

Entries that do not meet all requirements will be automatically disqualified from the nomination process without notification to the applicant. 

AWARD DEADLINES 

The application will be live on February 2, 2026, and the deadline to apply is February 13, 2026. Winners will be announced in April 2026.  

ELIGIBILITY 

The award was created to recognize outstanding faculty who are teaching medical programs in the following categories: 

  • Medical Doctor & Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (MD/DO) 
  • Registered Nurse & Nurse Practitioner (RN/NP) 
  • Physician Assistant (PA) 
  • Other Healthcare Professionals (pharmacology, dentistry, etc.) 
  • Student Advisor & Learning & Design Specialist 
  • Health Equity 
  • Anatomy & Physiology 
  • Librarian 

Eligible candidates include all faculty members. Five entries per person. The nomination is not available to employees or contractors of Elsevier or their immediate family members. Applicants must complete all steps of the application process to nominate a faculty member. 

APPLICATION DETAILS 

The application includes: 

  1. Basic personal information, contact information, and details of the faculty you’re nominating 
  2. A short questionnaire 
  3. A video submission of no more than 5 minutes in length 

The entirety of the application must be submitted through the application link. Applications submitted in parts to Elsevier emails will be considered incomplete. 

SELECTION OF WINNERS 

All responses to the questionnaire must meet the following requirements: 

  • Written in English and free of grammatical errors 
  • 150 words or fewer 
  • Original content that does not violate any intellectual property or copyright laws, and is suitable for publication 

Applicants may only submit one video per nomination, and it must meet the following requirements: 

  • Words spoken must be in English 
  • Accepted formats: .avi, .mov, .mpg, .mp4, .mpeg, or .wmv 
  • 5 minutes or less 
  • Original content that does not violate any intellectual property or copyright laws, and suitable for publication 
  • Cannot infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights 

AWARDS 

  • 4 winners from each category will receive: Elsevier swag kit, recognition on all Elsevier platforms, social media badges for recognition. And complimentary access to Elsevier products. 
  • 8 Grand Prize Award Winners (one per category) will receive: Osmosis + Elsevier swag kit, recognition on all Elsevier platforms, social media badges for recognition, and complementary access to Elsevier products, along with an invitation to the Raise the Line Podcast. 

TECHNICAL GUIDELINES FOR FILMING: 

To LOOK Good: 

  • Find a quiet room 
  • Use a comfortable chair that doesn’t rock or swivel 
  • Place your webcam between you and a light source 
  • Position the webcam lens just above eye level 
  • Sit in front of a relatively plain background 
  • Make “eye contact” with the camera – avoid looking at yourself 
  • Frame yourself from the middle of your shot 

To SOUND Good: 

  • Introduce yourself 
  • Answer the questions 
  • Address the audience directly 
  • Keep the recording under 5 minutes 
  • Speak naturally and clearly 

Faculty awardees will be chosen by a selection committee composed of Elsevier professionals and selected on the basis of quality of completed application, questionnaire responses, and video submission. The odds of winning depend on the quantity and quality of entries. The committee’s decision is final. Winners will be notified via email on or before April 2026

Acceptance of award constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winners’ names, cities, states, likenesses, and/or voices for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation. 

DIGITAL RIGHTS AGREEMENT 

By submitting the documentation associated with your nomination application, you agree that your responses, including but not limited to text answers, images, and video files, will become the property of Elsevier and that the company will have the right to publish them, including the use of materials for marketing or promotional purposes, on Elsevier websites, social media platforms, YouTube channel, or other media channels or formats without prior notification. 

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED 

Elsevier reserves the right to terminate this promotion without notice as deemed appropriate. Notwithstanding said termination, the nominations will be awarded as set forth in these Official Rules. 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

Elsevier is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, technical error, or human error which may occur in the processing of entries and submissions. Elsevier assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or alteration of entries. Elsevier reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Raise the Line Faculty Awards, in whole or in part, at any time. 

TERMS & CONDITIONS 

By entering and submitting a nomination application, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Elsevier, which shall be final. All applicable federal, provincial, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Except where prohibited by law, participation constitutes the participant’s consent to Elsevier’s use of their names, cities and states of residence, and entries for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media, online or offline, without further permission, consent, payment, or other consideration. If, for any reason, the promotion is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the promotion, Elsevier reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the promotion and to select winners from among all eligible entries received prior to the date of termination. Elsevier reserves the right to amend or modify the Rules, Terms and Conditions at any time during the promotion.
